    "content": "October 31, the AMSAT Symposium committee was informed by Carnival\nthat our Symposium ship, the Carnival Liberty, was experiencing a\ntechnical difficulty resulting in an itinerary change. The technical\ndifficulty affects the maximum cruising speed of the Carnival Liberty.\n\nThe full text of Carnival’s notification has been posted on the AMSAT\n2016 Space Symposium web page at: http://www.amsat.org/?page_id=3667\n\nSummary of changes and impact to attendees:\n\n1. Our destination is now Progreso rather than Cozumel.\n\n2. Scheduled departure is now 22:00 local time on Thursday, November 10.\n\n3. Scheduled arrival is now 10:00 local time on Monday, November 14.\n\n4. All guests who have purchased shore excursions for Cozumel through\nCarnival will receive refunds for their scheduled excursions.\n\n5. All guests will receive a $50 on-board credit and 25% discount on a\nfuture sailing with Carnival.\n\nThis itinerary change should have minimal impact on the events of the\nSymposium. It may affect your travel times to and from the airport.\nPlease check your flight departure times and contact Carnival if there\nis any conflict regarding this modified itinerary.\n\nWe have no further information from Carnival at this time.This and\nfurther communication will be emailed to all registered Symposium\nattendees in the next 24 hours.
