"content": "Rivets are OK... problem is a bad pot that has some intermittent areas.\n\nI bought my 5400 used, and the previous owner had mounted the azimuth rotor \nUPSIDE DOWN (no wonder it \"turned the wrong way\"...) and it got a LOT of \nwater inside. Despite my best efforts, the AZ pot has continued to go \ndownhill ever since.\n\nNeeds a brake disc, too...\n\n\n\n\n\n----- Original Message ----- \nFrom: \"Dave Guimont\" <[email protected]>\nTo: <[email protected]>\nSent: Tuesday, June 16, 2009 10:56 PM\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Pots for 5400\n\n\nI'm throwing this out for what it may be worth...\n\nI now have two 5500's and have had no trouble for years.\n\nBefore that I had two 5400's and had trouble with\nboth on the pots...the connections were rivets,\nand I opened up both and soldered the rivets, solved the problems on both...\n\nI replaced them, still working because of the\nover 360° rotation on the 5500's..\n\nMay be worth a shot to take a look....\n\n\n",
