"content": "The ISS is constantly downlinking on 2395Mhz an Amateur TV signal.\nMost of the time the camera is not connected, buy you can detect and\ntest with the constant DVB-S blank transmission. See:\n\nhttps://www.amsat-on.be/hamtv-summary/\n\nThe recommended receiver is a \"minitouner\" which can be used with and\nwithout a downconverter/pre amp. The signal is quite strong and there\nis live video the odd time, mainly during school contacts over Europe.\nWe don't expect it to be used much until the new power supply and\nradios are installed in the colombus module, but you can set up and\ntest on every ISS pass. Elevation tracking is really a must and a 2ft\nor 3ft dish with a circular feed helps.\n\nIf using a down converter, it would be best to use one designed for\ndigital signals, as sometimes other types introduce errors into the\nsignal.\n\nOn 29/01/2018, Bob- W7LRD <[email protected]> wrote:\n> Hello-Is there any chance of using S Band (2.4 Ghz) being used on any future\n> satellites?
