The receiver software \nwas designed with an emphasis on computing position and performing other \ntasks, such as routing, more than on displaying time. Hence the presentation \nof time is some times delayed. If time is of higher importance, then a \nspecialized GPS timing receiver is needed. Look for one that outputs a 1PPS \n(one pulse per second) signal and comes with timing software.\n\nJohn WA4WDL\n\n--------------------------------------------------\nFrom: \"George and Cheryl Abbott\" <[email protected]>\nSent: Thursday, February 02, 2012 11:57 AM\nTo: <[email protected]>; \"Vince Fiscus, KB7ADL\" <[email protected]>\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: GPS Time observation\n\n> I'm not sure about GPS,but I have noticed that the clock on our cable box \n> is off by up to 4 seconds at times.Customer service was not aware or \n> concerned when I let them know.\n>\n> -----Original Message----- \n> From: Vince Fiscus, KB7ADL\n> Sent: Thursday, February 02, 2012 10:28 AM\n> To: [email protected]\n> Subject: [amsat-bb] GPS Time observation\n>\n>\n> I have an old GPS unit, a Magellan explorist 210.
