Thats actually what it is always doing in transponder\nmode. only the TLM is brought down 9dBs to allow for the transponder power.\nThis 9dB number is also settable in the on board software, so it need not\nbe 9dB. However, this seems to be a reasonable number, as well equipped\nstations can still copy the TLM easily, and on quiet RF environments, so\ndoes an arrow + FT817 or FUNcube dongle.\n\nFUNcube boards are now in three more missions, of which two are scheduled\nfor launch this year.\n\nThanks JoAnne for pointing out the existence of these boards, and lets hope\nsome more CubeSat teams decide to use FOX or FUNcube boards. This seems to\nbe the best way for the community to make the best use out of CubeSats for\namateur radio.\n\nRegarding the world wide collection of telemetry: point at\nhttp://warehouse.funcube.org.uk and have them play ;)\nOr have the students download and analyze ARISSat-1 telemetry at\nhttp://www.arissattlm.org/\n\nAnother statistic: The Delfi-C3 telemetry collection database now contains\n2016683 frames and has 375 signed up radio amateurs submitting data, and\nmany more on the guest account.\n\nOur community really has a lot to offer to CubeSat teams!\n\nWouter PA3WEG\nFUNcube-1 transceiver designer\n\n\nOn Sat, Mar 29, 2014 at 6:46 AM, Jerry Buxton <[email protected]> wrote:\n\n> Indeed, if the ham community gets involved because of the transponder, that\n> is where the slow speed telemetry comes down and they then have a worldwide\n> network collecting it for them! :-)\n>\n> Jerry\n>\n> -----Original Message-----\n> From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\n> Behalf Of B J\n> Sent: Saturday, March 29, 2014 12:34 AM\n> To: n0jy\n> Cc: [email protected]\n> Subject: [amsat-bb] Re: N American Satellite Activity UP\n>\n> On 3/29/14, n0jy <[email protected]> wrote:\n> > When Fox-1 is completed, the whole design kit and kaboodle will be\n> > published to shed the ITAR shroud (as we have done with what has been\n> > developed as we go along, in the AMSAT-NA Space Symposium Proceedings)\n> > and anyone who wants to build one can use it or adapt it (hopefully\n> > keeping the ham transponder!) for their CubeSat RF design and fly it\n> > in/from/for another country with their experiments.
