"content": "Hi Michael!\n\nThe gridmaps on K8YSE's website are a good indicator of what grids are \nrare/not so rare on the birds. I would obviously not go based upon my \ngridmaps on there, but someone like K8YSE, KO4MA, WD9EWK and N5AFV who have \nbeen around awhile, if you see a common grid that has not been worked on \ntheir gridmaps, you can bet it is a rare grid on the birds. Here is the \nlink just in case you don't have it: \nhttp://www.papays.com/sat/gridmaps/gridmaps.html\n\n73!\n\nZack\nKD8KSN\n\n-----Original Message----- \nFrom: Michael Elliott\nSent: Tuesday, November 16, 2010 11:31 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Most Wanted Grid Map and a quick thanks\n\nHello everyone,\n\nI have a sort of odd question which has been bouncing around in my mind.\n\nBack in the October issue of QST there was a map of the 6m grid squares that\ndisplayed a grid map with colored squares showing the most wanted to least\nwanted grids. I understand that the map was based on a survey of 6m users -\nbut I was curious if there was anything similar for satellites?\n\nAlso, I am sorry for the delay in sending this - but I wanted to thank\nPatrick, WD9EWK and Drew, KO4MA for the AO27 contacts this past Saturday.\nOur ARES group was helping with a county wide communications exercise\nassisting Emergency Services. During our late lunch we had a impromptu\nsatellite demonstration. I had a hard time finding the satellite, but\neventually made it. I mistakenly switched in to auto-mode in providing my\ngrid information, we were actually located in EM85 instead of my home qth of\nEM95. My friend Mac, K3CLM tried to make it as well using his HT and Elk\nantenna. We had around 12 individuals watching the demo. Hopefully we\nwill get more interested in operating the birds. Thanks again to Patrick\nand Drew.\n\nMichael, K4MOA\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected]. Opinions expressed are those of the author.\nNot an AMSAT-NA member?
