"content": "Dear AMSAT member,\n\nFirstly, thanks for sending a congratulatory message to the Radio Amateur\nSociety of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King (RAST) for\nthe successful launch of the JAISAT-1 Satellite. The JAISAT-1 Project team\nhas been informed by RAST President Dr Jakkree Hantongkom who had direct\ncontacted to German Orbital Systems (GOS) which had informed him of\nproblems relating to the beacon of the JAISAT-1 satellite and currently the\nJAISAT-1 satellite is in the process of the commissioning of various\nsystems and getting them ready for use.\n\nGOS needs to use the beacon on the frequency of 435.700 MHz first before\ncommissioning various systems for three satellites, namely JAISAT-1,\nLightSat and EXOCONNEXT, which are all using the Dstar One platform. In\norder for ease of control and to complete the commissioning of various\nfunctions it is necessary for GOS to use the Engineering Frequency of\n435.700 MHz while the three satellites have orbits spaced apart allowing\nfor GOS to adjust the operating frequencies separately. For JAISAT-1 the\nfrequency is 435.325 MHz for as has been assigned by the IARU for the\ncontrol of satellite operations.\n\nFor the JAISAT-1 satellite, RAST has received funds from the NBTC's\nBroadcasting and Telecommunications Research and Development Fund for the\nPublic Interest (BTFP) with support being made in periodic payments.\nAccording to the satellite progress report, RAST will be obliged to pay GOS\na fee as a guarantee for successfully sending the satellite into space and\nto achieve this RAST needs to file a report to the BTFP in order to receive\nthe funding for this payment.\n\nConsequently, RAST is making request for urgent assistance from AMSAT\nmembers around the world to listen for the JAISAT-1 Beacon signal on\n435.700 MHz in GMSK Mobitex 4K8 mode, according to the advice from Mr Vlad\nChoreny as follows (Frames 1 in row 11):\n\n11 (0x0B) - LightSat UHF1\n12 (0x0C) - LightSat UHF2\n\n41 (0x29) - JAISAT UHF1\n42 (0x2A) - JAISAT UHF2\n\n51 (0x33) - EXO connect UHF1\n52 (0x34) - EXO connect UHF2\n\nThe Radio Amateur Society of Thailand (RAST) and the JAISAT-1 Project Team\nare urgently seeking row data that can be received from all packets\nworldwide. Please send Row data and KSS files to RAST by email at\[email protected] so that RAST will be able to report the reception\nof signals from around the world to submit in a report to the BTFP to\ndemonstrate that the GOS commissioning of all functions is complete up to\nand including the testing of the Linear Transponder in Mode-J that we will\nask AMSAT members to test in the future.\n\nRAST therefore requests AMSAT members worldwide to gather information and\nsend the details to RAST so that the society will be able to submit a\nreport to the BTFP fund so that it will grant the final payment for GOS.\nWith the JAISAT-1 launch, RAST has enabled AMSAT members worldwide to use\nthe JAISAT-1 from now on.\n\nPlease be informed accordingly.\nSincerely and with respect\n\nTanan Rangseeprom\nProject Manager of JAISAt-1\n",
