You can see it on the schematic. The rotator\nwould work fine with no load, and would generate more torque than you could\nstop with your hand. However, it would not move my array, which is\nadmittedly overloaded. There was definitely a thermal effect here, in that\non a cool day it would work a little, but not on a hot one. Replacing the\ncapacitor solved the problem, but it was messy. If they just plugged it in\nbut did not test it under a real load, they MIGHT have missed a problem. My\nexperience with Yaesu/Vertex techs is that they are either excellent, or\nincompetent, with little in between. \n\nIf you can find a good capacitor, you can bridge the lines at the control\nbox end in parallel with the rotator unit. If it works, or works better,\nthat is a good indication of a bad internal capacitor.\n\nAlan\nWA4SCA\n\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Michael J. The same problem occurs when controlled \nby computer from Uni_trac 2000. Work about 25% of the time.\n\nMike\nkb8zgl\n\n\nElan Portnoy wrote:\n> Spray-out the switch with cleaner?\n>\n>\n> --- On Fri, 11/20/09, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote:\n>\n> \n>> From: [email protected] <[email protected]>\n>> Subject: [amsat-bb] Help with Yaesu g5500\n>> To: [email protected]\n>> Date: Friday, November 20, 2009, 11:12 PM\n>> I bought a used Yaesu g5500 and it\n>> has a strange problem.
