I partly disassembled my Arrow and put it into my suitcase as it was the easiest way for me to transport it.\n> \n> On the trip out, no questions. On the way back, the luggage inspector asked what it was as it showed up on the scan. He accepted my explanation when I told him I was a ham. Maybe he was simply curious, but I had my amateur radio certificate with me just in case I had to give more details.\n> \n> 73s\n> \n> Bernhard VA6BMJ @ DO33FL\n\nIn your checked bagage dismantle you arrow and put your elements in a 1\"1/2 plastic (PVC) plumbing pipe cut to fit the longest element. \nSeal both end with clear plactic bag in a way for the inspector to see through it. You can put fishing rod section wrap around the pipe it \nwill propbably not trigger enough questions in the inspector mind and he can let go your suitcase. I found the TSB search card in one of my \nsuitcase with the pipe one time and no question ask\n\nFor carry on follow an excellent suggestion made. Just pur your radio wires antenna in clear zip lock bag and put them in a separate \nplastic search box. They want to see understand. One female inspector told me once when i asked her why my carry on suitcase has been \nmanually inspected, she told me it was not the stuff but the huge number of items who made them searching manually!!!\n\nPut more bag with less stock in them it helps.\n\n\n\n\n\"-\"\n\n\nLuc Leblanc VE2DWE\nSkype VE2DWE\nwww.qsl.net/ve2dwe\nDSTAR urcall VE2DWE\nWAC BASIC CW PHONE SATELLITE\n\n \n", "attachments": [] }
