"content": "Hi Joe,\nMost of my experience is with Gentoo Linux, Apache, mysql. Plus relevant\nutils.\nOn top of which running SMF for a bulletin board integrated with coppermine\nfor a gallery. Also Oww and RRD for display data from my weather station.\nAlso used DADA for a mailing list.\n\nThat being said I have plenty of time on my hands at the moment, so I am\nhappy to load up Joomla or any other CMS and learn it.\n\nOne of my reasons for volunteering was some of the very out of date web\npages I was coming across. As I was attempting to get back into amateur\nradio. (I lived in a location that maid radio impossible)\n\nSo I would be more than happy to help out.\n\nSteve\nG6UIM \n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: Joseph Armbruster [mailto:[email protected]] \nSent: 22 October 2009 02:18\nTo: Steve Daniels\nSubject: Re: [amsat-bb] Re: volunteering\n\nSteve,\n\nYou have web development experience correct ?\n\nAre you familiar at all with Joomla ?\n\nOne of the current desires of Amsat is to port over the existing \nwebsite to a content management system like Joomla. I set up \nwikimedia and joomla for testing purposes and Gould seemed to like \nJoomla better. The primary reason is that adding and editing content \nis a breeze with it. So, what i'm starting to move over content into \nthe Joomla instance. I'm getting the menus, sections, etc... setup so \nthat showing it off will be nice.\n\nIf you're interested I could use your help in making it happen. I \nhave a Parallels VM with Ubuntu that I could pass on to you if you'd \nlike to test out Joomla. It's reasonably trivial to set up but i'm \nnot certain of your experience.\n\nLet me know if you're interested in helping out.\n\nJoe\n\n\nOn Oct 21, 2009, at 7:31 PM, Steve Daniels wrote:\n\n> Hi David\n>\n> Happy to help in any way I can.
