This ARISS radio contact will take placefrom the former Paris-Le Bourget airport where Charles Lindbergh landed duringthe first solo transatlantic aircraft crossing in 1927 and which is now theNational Air and Space Museum of France.\n\n \n\nThis will be adirect contact via Amateur Radio allowing students to ask theirquestions of astronaut, Matthew Dominick amateurradio call sign KC0TOR. The downlink frequency for this contact is 145.800 MHzand may be heard by listeners that are within the ISS-footprint that alsoencompasses the relay ground station.\n\n \n\nThe amateur radio ground station for this contact is north ofGagny at the National Air and Space Museum of France. Amateur radio operators usingcall sign TM2ISS, will operate the ground station to establish and maintain theISS connection.\n\n \n\nThe ARISS radiocontact is scheduled for April 4, 2024 at 4:51 pm CEST (France) (14:51 UTC, 10:51 am EDT, 9:51 am CDT, 8:51 am MDT, 7:51am PDT).\n\n \n\nThe public isinvited to watch the live stream at: https://www.youtube.com/user/f6kgl/live\n\n_______________________________\n\n \n\nAs time allows, students will ask these questions:\n\n1. Could youdescribe your feelings when you first took off from Earth?\n\n2. How do youfeel when you see the Earth from space?\n\n3. What aspectof your daily life do you miss the most during your stay aboard the ISS?\n\n4. What aspectsof adapting to life in space do you find particularly challenging?\n\n5. Has thecultural diversity of the crew any effect on the life in space?\n\n6. What is themost interesting scientific experiment you did in the ISS?\n\n7. Whatexperiment or observation stood out as the most memorable for you during yourtime aboard the ISS?\n\n8. How muchfree time do you have and what do you do with it?\n\n9. Do you feelas much hunger and thirst in space as we do on earth?\n\n10. Do theorgans stay in place or do they move?\n\n11. Is itdifficult to stay a long time in a box with the same persons?\n\n12. Is there agrowing danger in the ISS because of space junk?\n\n13. If youcould undertake a space mission to another planet, which one would you choose?\n\n14. Does thegrowing power of the private industry in the space conquest have an impact onthe work in the ISS?\n\n15. Are thespace tourists welcome in the ISS and is it difficult to support them?\n\n16. Have youever seen any aurora borealis from the ISS?\n\n \n\nAbout ARISS:\n\n \n\nAmateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) isa cooperative venture of international amateur radio societies and the spaceagencies that support the ISS. In the United States, sponsors are the AmericanRadio Relay League (ARRL), Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC), RadioAmateur Satellite Corporation (AMSAT), NASA’s Space Communications andNavigation program (SCaN) and the ISS National Lab—Space Station Explorers. Theprimary goal of ARISS is to promote exploration of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics topics. ARISS does this by organizingscheduled contacts via amateur radio between crew members aboard the ISS andstudents. Before and during these radio contacts, students, educators, parents, and communities take part in hands-on learning activities tied to space, spacetechnologies, and amateur radio.
