The Allen head bolts\ncan be moved easily as the wrenches do not slip or damage the slots\n\nAlso if the end stop limit switches fail, the rotor drives the unit past the\nstops ( which are just bent tabs on the mounting plate) and bends the whole\nthing out of shape. First smell the motor. If the motor has burnt windings\nyou can smell them. mesureesure the resistance\nbetween the winding. If the resistance beteen the winding is roughly\nthe same\nsuspect the capastor in the control box. If something mechanical has\nfailed a visually inspection will reveal it. I was considering dedicating a 70 cm \"eggbeater\" with a preamp as a\ngood, omni-directional antenna. So far though, it doesn't seem to pick up\nbelow 12 degree elevations. Currently the preamp is in the shack (I know, at\nthe antenna) and my coax is not optimum. If I use heliax, put the preamp at\nthe antenna, is this feasible or should I plan on a steerable beam?\n\n2. I'm having a dickens of a time figuring out what the telemetry\nfrequencies are.
