What is that for, the rules are posted online at the \r\nARRL website under Field Day.\r\n\r\nFor many years, the AMSAT Field Day has had the rule that you can only \r\nturn in one contact per FM satellite. The reasoning behind this was that \r\nmany satellite operators use the SSB/CW birds to make contacts where \r\nspace is available. An FM satellite only allows one contact at a time. \r\nThis leaves the FM birds so that those needing the ARRL bonus points \r\nhave a chance to make them. You are always welcome to make as many \r\ncontacts on any FM satellite as you would like. However, you can only \r\nturn in one contact per FM satellite for AMSAT scoring. The ARRL adopted \r\nthis rule a year or two ago.\r\n\r\nNow, for the second question. You are correct, the ARRL considers \r\noperating satellites as one band and thus, you can contact me, KK5DO, on \r\none satellite and that will be it for any other satellite we happen to \r\nmeet on. You will need to work different stations and all those will \r\ncount towards your score for the ARRL field day. Now, as far as AMSAT \r\nfield day goes, we consider each satellite to be a \"separate band\". In \r\nfact we go as far as saying if a satellite has multiple bands available \r\nyou can work a station on each band. Like 2m/70cm as well as 2m/1.2g or \r\nAO-7 that might come up in mode 2m/70cm and then after it comes into \r\nsunlight again might be in 2m/10m. Or a satellite that has 2m/70cm mode \r\nB as well as a store-and -forward bbs, you can make a contact on both.\r\n\r\nI will be posting the AMSAT Field Day rules for this year this weekend \r\nand they will also appear in the upcoming issue of the AMSAT Journal. \r\nOur rules will basically be the same as last year as the ARRL has \r\nrelaxed the rules for class D stations and operating from home.\r\n\r\nDoes that answer your questions?\r\n\r\n73...bruce\r\n\r\nOn 4/14/2022 7:06 PM, Gary wrote:\r\n>\r\n> The ARRL is running a Field Day forum at the Hamvention.
