I am very proud of all the teamwork and effort that has \ngone into this project.\"\n\nThe new ARISS antenna is very similar to the antennas already on \nthe Russian service module. Once the antennas are in place the\nARISS team will be working to bring amateur radio to the Columbus \nmodule.\n\nIn conclusion Lou noted the tremendous contribution from ESA for \nthe experiment, the launch and the EVA making this expansion of\namateur radio aboard the ISS possible.\n\n[ANS thanks Lou McFadin, W5DID for the above the information]\n\n/EX\n\n\n\nSB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-326.02\nDQ11APOLLO Activation on All Bands\n\nAMSAT News Service Bulletin 326.02\n From AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD.\nNovember 22, 2009\nTo All RADIO AMATEURS\nBID: $ANS-326.02\n\nDQ11APOLLO Activation on All Bands \n\nDQ11APOLLO is a special-event station of the Deutsche Amateuer-Radio-\nClub (DARC) celebrating the 40th. anniversary of the first manned \nlanding on the moon by NASA.\n\nJuly 20, 2009 marked the 40th annnivesary of the first manned landing \non the moon by the Apollo-11 mission. To celebrate this brilliant tech-\nnical achievement of NASA, a group of space-flight enthusiast radio \namateurs of the Deutsche Amateur-Radio-Club applied for the special-\nevent callsign DQ11APOLLO. It was issued on July 15, 2009 and is valid\n365 days. The station will be activated on the mission-dates of the \npast Apollo flights on all HF, VHF & UHF-bands using SSB, CW, FM and \nPSK. \n\nThe call will be activated during several occasions in 2009 and 2010:\n\nApollo 12 \tNovember 14-24, 2009\nApollo 17 \tDecember 07-19, 2009\nApollo 8 \tDecember 21-27, 2009\nApollo 14 \tJanuary 31-Feb 9, 2010\nApollo 9 \tMarch 03-13, 2010\nApollo 13 \tApril 11-17, 2010\nApollo 16 \tApril 16-27, 2010\nApollo 10 \tMay 18-26, 2010. \n\nBuereau-cards via DF3JO, c/o Deutscher Amateur-Radio Club-DARC, Germany\nDirect-cards via DF3JO, Thomas Stinder, Braukkamp 11, 48249 Dülmen, Germany\n\nPreference will be given to cards sent direct with return postage and \nwill be answered directly.
