"content": "Hi!\n\nWhile I am in Las Vegas for this weekend's ARRL Nevada State Convention, I\nplan on doing some operating before and after the convention each day. I\nwant to work some passes from the DM25/DM26 grid boundary, on the south end\nof Las Vegas, as well as from Lake Mead - a National Recreational Area, and\na location that is part of the ARRL's National Parks on the Air event for\n2016. So far, I have made one definite plan for my non-convention operating\nthis weekend - an SO-50 pass on Saturday (30 April) morning just before\n1400 UTC, at the DM25/DM26 grid boundary on the southern end of the Las\nVegas metropolitan area.\n\nBeyond this pass, I will look to work other passes in the early mornings\nand evenings in the Las Vegas area. I will also look to work some passes\nas I approach Las Vegas on Friday morning, and on my drive home Sunday\nafternoon. One plan is to stop in the Kingman area in northwestern Arizona,\nnear the I-40 freeway, to work from grid DM35. If time permits, I would\noperate on the DM25/DM35 boundary in Kingman either around midday Friday or\nsometime Sunday afternoon.\n\nFor all of my trips to southern Nevada in the past several years, I have\nalways operated at a single location - the DM25/DM26 grid boundary on the\nsouth end of the Las Vegas area. This will be one location I will work from\nduring the weekend. I will also try to activate the Lake Mead National\nRecreation Area, southeast of Las Vegas, as part of the ARRL's National\nParks on the Air activity during 2016. If an SO-50 or FO-29 pass line up\nwith my travels, I may even try to work a pass from the \"Welcome to\nFabulous Las Vegas, Nevada\" sign. The sign sits in the median of Las Vegas\nBoulevard, next to McCarran Airport and what some consider the \"official\"\nsouthern end of the Las Vegas Strip.\n\nWhile traveling, I will use my TH-D72A HT for APRS to transmit my location,\nusing the call sign WD9EWK-9. One way to keep up with my travels will be to\nvisit APRS.FI:\n\nhttp://aprs.fi/WD9EWK-9\n\nI will also post updates here on the AMSAT-BB, as well as my @WD9EWK\nTwitter feed. If you don't use Twitter, you can still read my posts on\nTwitter at this link:\n\nhttp://twitter.com/WD9EWK\n\nAs always, I will upload these QSOs, as well as the QSOs I make during the\nARRL Nevada State Convention, to Logbook of the World. If you would like to\nreceive a QSL card, please e-mail me directly with the QSO details. If you\nare in my log, I would be happy to send you a QSL card.\n\n73!\n\n\n\n\n\nPatrick WD9EWK/VA7EWK\nhttp://www.wd9ewk.net/\nTwitter: @WD9EWK\n",
