    "content": "Having owned both of them, here are my personal observations:\n\nTS-2000 can't send 12 volts via the coax line for preamps;\nTS-2000 has double the power on 2 meters;\nTS-2000 is available with 1.2 GHz;\nFT-847 doesn't have VOX;\nFT-847 has been discontinued for several years, can be difficult to find in the used market, and replacement parts in the near future may be difficult to find.\n\nI still own the 2000, but regret getting rid of the 847.\n\n73 de W4AS\n\nOn Apr 13, 2010, at 12:41 PM, Bill Dzurilla wrote:\n\n> Any thoughts on the pros and cons of each of these rigs, particularly for satellite work?
