I liked the BNC connector on the FT530 it was easy to connect to my\n> mobile antenna, but the HT-D72a uses a flimsy SMA connector. does anyone\n> used this radio as a mobile? what kind of connection to your mobile whip?\n\nI put one of these Diamond SMA/BNC adapters on my TH-D72A the\nday I bought it:\n\nhttp://www.rfparts.com/diamond/bncj-smap.html\n\nI have never put the stock Kenwood antenna on this radio. This\nadapter almost looks like it came on this radio from the factory.\nI have the same adapter on my TH-F6A, and it also looks like it\ncame on there from Kenwood.\n\nI don't like SMA connectors on my ham HTs, and try to avoid them\nwhen possible. All my coax and antennas for satellite work use BNC\nconnectors, which helps for quick setup and disassembly. Same\nwith my mobile mag-mount that has coax ending in a BNC connector.\n\n73!\n\n\n\n\n\nPatrick WD9EWK/VA7EWK\nhttp://www.wd9ewk.net/\n\n", "attachments": [] }
