"content": "Hi Mario,\n\nFor L band uplink I use an SSB Electronics UTM 1200DLX. It generates \nabout 15 watts out for 5 watts in. It has a 144MHz input. If I am \nworking mode L/S, I will use my FT-817 for the mode L input, the 5 watts \n(about 3 to the UTM 1200 on the roof) works fine. That leaves the \nFT-736 for the 144 MHz IF for the S band downlink. Mode L/U would allow \nthe use of just the FT-736, 144MHz for the UTM 1200 and then receive on \nthe 70cm side.\n\n73,\nJerry\nN0JY\n\nIK1ZQJ Mario wrote:\n> Hello Domenico I8CVS\n> Tnx for your suggest very appreciated.\n> Yes I agree with you, the transverter needs to have a stable oscillator to work (ocxo, tcxo) and a pa is needed today done also with the semiconductor like module or mosfet.\n> On this last issue I have many project available in my lab.\n> Coming back to the transverter, do you think that the IF in VHF is suitable also when I'm working in mode L/S where the Smode is done through a down converter 2400/144MHz?\n> Sure, have a radio with a third band solve all the problems, probably IC910 newer or the glorius 790.\n> I'm scratching the head to take a decision..\n>\n> 73 Mario IK1ZQJ\n>\n>\n>\n> _______________________________________________\n> Sent via [email protected].
