I’ve often wanted to try EME and I’ve been collecting parts to put together a separate EME station, but hadn’t had time to get that done yet. I’ve been on FT4/FT8 on HF and VHF/UHF so I already had WSJT-X installed. After seeing your post, I looked at DL7APV’s website and configured Q65-60B at the last minute. I decided to check the horizon at moonrise with my 18 element yagi before switching to the satellite antennas and was amazed to see DL7APV calling CQ. I answered and couldn’t hardly believe it when he answered! My first ever EME QSO is now in the log, and it will remain one of my most memorable QSO’s for a long time!\n\n \n\n230202_213400 432.062 Rx Q65-60B -25 2.7 2523 CQ DL7APV JO62 q3\n\n230202_213500 432.062 Tx Q65-60B 0 0.0 1500 DL7APV N9FN EN60\n\n230202_213600 432.062 Rx Q65-60B -24 2.7 2522 N9FN DL7APV -25 q3\n\n230202_213700 432.062 Tx Q65-60B 0 0.0 1500 DL7APV N9FN R-24\n\n230202_213800 432.062 Rx Q65-60B -25 2.7 2520 N9FN DL7APV RR73 q3\n\n230202_213900 432.062 Tx Q65-60B 0 0.0 1500 DL7APV N9FN 73\n\n230202_214000 432.062 Rx Q65-60B -24 2.8 2518 CQ DL7APV JO62 q3\n\n \n\nThanks again and 73,\n\nDave – N9FN\n\n \n\n \n\nFrom: David G0MRF via AMSAT-BB <[email protected]> \nSent: Wednesday, February 1, 2023 7:06 AM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [AMSAT-BB] EME with DL7APV\n\n \n\nJust found this on Twitter.\nSo if you want to see if your LEO setup is capable of working or hearing 70cms EME, this could be the chance.\nThe time presumably will be whenever the moon is above the horizon in Germany and at your QTH.\nSoftware would be WSJT-x or similar\n\n \n\n \n\nBernd DL7APV asked me to QSP to the #AMSAT <https://twitter.com/hashtag/AMSAT?src=hashtag_click> community that he will QRV this coming Thu, Sat, Sun and listen especially for #satellite <https://twitter.com/hashtag/satellite?src=hashtag_click> setups.
