"content": "Tim,\n\nThe font of all Keplerian knowledge, except for some of the satellites which\ndo not have their's published for security or other matters, is Space Track.\nSpace Track feeds Celestrak. There can be a few hours lag as the updates\npropogate through the systems, and software updates. Usually no more than\n6-8m hours. Both SATPC32 and HRD used Celestrak Keps, but they can, and do,\nuse the NASA.ALL Keps. It depends on how you have them configured. No\nmystery, really.\n\n73s,\n\nAlan\nWA4SCA\n\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Tim Goodrich\nSent: Thursday, October 06, 2011 2:45 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: ISS Keps\n\nI think there may be something more to this. You're saying celestrak keps\nare as correct and up to date as the online tracker. However, both HRD and\nSatPC were wrong for me last night and I know HRD uses celestrak keps, which\nI know were less than 12 hours old, if not only a couple hours old. \n\nIf it helps to decode this mystery, I know my friend running NOVA had the\ncorrect info for the ISS pass last night. \n\nTim\nK6TW\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: Alan P. Biddle [mailto:[email protected]] \nSent: Wednesday, October 05, 2011 2:00 PM\nTo: 'Kevin Deane'; [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: ISS Keps\n\nKevin,\n\nThe NASA.ALL Keps are issued and updated weekly, normally Friday, as they\nhave been for literally decades. The on line tracker widget gets Keps\ndirectly, and so will be as up to date as Celestrak and Space Track. Two\ndifferent systems, and purposes, which is why there is a difference. \n\nYou will see a similar situation with ARISSat-1 as it slowly descends.\nWhich is a good chance to get another plug in for the Chicken Little\nContest.\n\n73s,\n\nAlan\nWA4SCA\n\n\n\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Kevin Deane\nSent: Wednesday, October 05, 2011 3:33 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] ISS Keps\n\n\nSo here we are again, Amsat shows the ISS in the right spot but the keps it\ngives out for automatic updates are around 6 minutes off again. I know about\nthe boosting and why they are off, just dont ubderstand WHY they are good on\nthe online tracker and not anything else?\n\nKevin\nKF7MYK\n\n \t\t \t \t\t \n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
