People like Mike, always come thru the noise and bring\nus all new ways to look at the same old issues.\n\nThanks to Mike for a great idea, \n\n Always have fun with amateur radio. It's magic.\n\n \n\n 73's\n\n Kim - AC7YY\n\n AMSAT #26076\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of mike honer\nSent: Monday, September 18, 2006 4:22 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] AO-51.....Fund-Raising Opportunity?\n\nI called Martha with this idea today, and she suggested I put it on the b-b,\nso here it is:\n\nAO-51 has been a real \"hoot\" for a bunch of hams, including me. judging from\ntheir technique and their QSLs, many of these ops are doing the sats for the\nfirst time. And probably most of that group do not belong to Amsat. (And\nthey should, you know)\n\nSince FM05 is not easy to find on '51, I've been getting more than a few QSL\ncards, and have started to ask the question on my return: \"How about $ending\nAmsat a thank-you note?\"\n\nYes, $, not S.\n\nSo, my idea is that we should try to get those whom we hear on '51 and who\nare not members to join Amsat, or at least send a few bucks in.\nWorks either way for me.\n\nFor those who would like to try this: Martha has said that she will run\ncalls against the members list and tell us who is NOT a member, if we send\nher lists of all those we hear on '51. No need to try to talk to all these\nfolks, it's crowded enough.\n\nFor my part, I will supply the first 500 39 or 24 cent stamps to put on the\nthe QSLs you would send to those identified as non-members. We should know\nhow or if this will work by the response to the first 500 \n\nFirst goal would be to generate 100 new members or contributors.\n\nI am not a subscriber to the list, so please contact me at [email protected]\nwith comments, criticisms, or offers to help.\n\nThanks for the bandwidth.\n\nMike Honer, W1BFN\nLM 2252\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
