"content": "I have used mine and worked through AO-16. It was a little tough but \ndoable. As stated, AO-16's receiver is quite sensitive. I forget who it \nwas, but when I was running my FT-817 for the uplink, someone I had a \ncontact with was running a pair for both up and down link and was doing \nrather well. So I'd say it is doable. The better the antenna, the better \nyou'll do as well and be able to use the FT-817. I normally use my \nKenwood pairs TS711/811 but wanted to try the FT-817 and was rather \nsurprised on my success.\n\nReid, W4UPD\n\n\nChris Bloy wrote:\n> Hi all\n>\n> Has anyone used an FT-817 on AO-16?\n>\n> I am having issues getting into the repeater, I think partly due to the\n> amount of stations trying to access!
