"content": " Hi Angel,\n\n BTW, I wondered about the same thing a few months ago and I found as\n\"Final Solution\" the intended (by Domenico, i8CVS) filter.\n However, I had 1-2 ideas and I believe that you can do it also by using\n2x \"Quarter Wave\" (Lambda/4) coaxial pieces and between of them the two\nantiparallel diodes. The coaxial pieces is possible to have any form, so the\ncircuit can be compact enough but I've no idea about the max. isolation of\nthis combination in dB. In other words I can't say under how much TX power\nremains safe the pre-amp.\n Another approach is that, by replacing the 2 diodes with just a PIN diode.\nWith a sensitive RF-sniffer circuit, you can put a Bias-voltage onto\nPIN-diode when you have\na faulty PTTand thus, the input-output of 2x \"Quarter Wave line\" produced\nvery high Z, protecting this way your pre-amp.\n\nGood luck (without... smoke on your pre-amp !)\n\n73, Mak SV1BSX\n\n----- Original Message -----\nFrom: \"Angel Peláez, EA4DUT\" <[email protected]>\nTo: <[email protected]>\nSent: Friday, September 15, 2006 5:10 PM\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Preamp protection\n\n\nHi everybody:\n\nI'm looking for the schematic diagram of a preamp\nprotector against TX.\nI know the impressive quarter wave design with square\nbrass stock and clamping diodes for 432 EME which\nDomenico, I8CVS, described I don't remember where.\nRather I'm looking for something much compact as I\nwould like to use from VHF to above. I mean one of\nthese small boxes (RF diode clippers???) I see\nsometimes on commercial pages which promises withstand\n25W for a short period I'll appreciate any comment\nabout the issue.\nThanks in advance.\n\nEA4DUT, Angel\nIN80FF\n\n\n\n\n______________________________________________\nLLama Gratis a cualquier PC del Mundo.\nLlamadas a fijos y móviles desde 1 céntimo por minuto.\nhttp://es.voice.yahoo.com\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
