"content": "Hi!\n\nAnother HT for the \"list\" would be the IC-Z1A. This was a 2m/70cm\ndual-bander with a detachable control head/mic, which used the\nsame accessories as the IC-W32A. I picked up a couple of them a\nfew months ago, left one in Mexico as a complete portable station\nfor the FM satellites (along with another complete station using an\nFT-8800 mobile radio instead of an HT), and still have the second\nIC-Z1A at home that I need to do something with.\n\nLike with the IC-W32A and many other Icom 2m/70cm radios of that\ntime sold in North America, the IC-Z1A does not transmit below 440\nMHz without a mod. It works well without modification on the current\nFM satellites (AO-27, AO-51, SO-50), but the mod is needed for the\nnormal ISS cross-band voice repeater and for use on the 70cm band\nthat most of the world outside the USA and Canada has.\n\n73!\n\n\n\n\nPatrick WD9EWK/VA7EWK\nhttp://www.wd9ewk.net/\n",
