"content": "Hello, Sanada-san --\n\nDelfi has no batteries on board; it works entirely from its solar\npanels. It appears that at present it sometimes gets in an attitude,\nor position, where its panels do not generate sufficient voltage (or\ncurrent?) and it shuts down. In addition, sometimes the audio quality\nof the BPSK transmission degrades; I've assumed that this is a related\nproblem.\n\nOften, it will restart half a minute later, so keep listening to the pass.\n\nI believe that this is a problem the control team understands and is\ngoing to try to address, but naturally they are being very cautious.\n\nA longer pass helps a great deal with getting used to tuning the\nsignal. Start by tuning for the strongest signal on your s-meter, then\ntweak it from there. Don't keep moving the tuning around, because\nRASCAL needs some time to get a lock.\n\n73, Bruce\nVE9QRP\n\nOn Thu, May 8, 2008 at 8:39 AM, ji1izr/Masahiro SANADA\n<[email protected]> wrote:\n> Hello, everyone,\n>\n> I watched DEFLI-C3 just now,\n> listen to it and try to decode with RASCAL.\n>\n> During this pass,\n> the sound suddenly went out about 11:27UTC.\n>\n> The LOS was about 11:32UTC.\n>\n> I could not decode any data.\n>\n> What happened?\n>\n> Masahiro SANADA\n> JI1IZR\n>\n> _______________________________________________\n> Sent via [email protected].
