It works as well in Vista as it did in WIN95, WIN98,\nNT4 ( as well as anything ran in NT4 that needed to talk to a comport ),\nWIN2000, and XP.\n\nI still use it solely for the GO-32 BBS while running SatPC32 and LVB\nTracker to control the rotator and doppler.\n\nI also occasionally use the olde golde TrakBox. The TrakBox is 15 years old\nand I can run doppler and rotator without a PC ( great for Field Day ). The\n\"current\" LVB Tracker goes brain dead every couple of weeks and requires a\nrecalibration and only does rotators.\n\nSometimes \"new\" is not \"improved\" nor \"current\".\n\nLots of great freeware around such as HRD, UI-VIEW32, MMSSTV, and a\nbazillion logging programs and more.\n\nIf you want to be on the bleeding edge and into open source go to\nsourceforge.net and sourceforge.com and do some searches, or, Google\nLinux/ham radio.\n\n\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Gordon JC Pearce MM3YEQ\nSent: November 3, 2008 5:06 PM\nTo: Jeff Wandling W7BRS\nCc: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: help with wisp\n\nJeff Wandling W7BRS wrote:\n\n> \"WiSP for Windows 95/98 or NT 4.0 is current. What version are you running?\n\nI'll say.\n\nIt's one of the odd things I've noticed about software for amateur radio,\nthough. It all seems to be really badly written shareware for old versions\nof Windows, with no source code available and quite often a fee required to\n\"unlock\" the useful bits - which, if it hasn't been updated in ten years,\nyou may not be able to get any more!\n\nI would have thought that radio amateurs would have grokked the concept of\nopen source, if anyone did...\n\nGordon\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
