Utilizing a REST\ninterface HTTP GETs are used to specify the propagation parameters. This\nweb service is meant to be used by web or desktop apps removing the\nnecessity to integrate an orbital propagation model into the application.\nCurrently the SGP model is being used.\n\nThe entire Celestrak library is available as well as the classified TLEs\npublished by Mike McCants. An autoupdate satellite library manager\nautomatically refreshes the local cache of celestrak and classified tles.\nThe entire library is flushed every 24 hours allowing for new additions to\nCelestrak to be added. Celestrak seems to be the best alternative to\ndirectly grabbing Space-Track.org elements which would violate the usage\nagreement if I understand correctly. All available spacecraft listed here:\nhttp://www.williamslabs.com/sat/validSats.py\n\nOutput formats include XML, HTML, and the Keyhole Markup Language (KML)\nallowing integration into Google Maps and Google Earth very easily.\nDocumentation and instructions on how to use the service are available here:\nhttp://www.williamslabs.com/sat\n\nSample Google Maps / Earth integration examples here:\nhttp://www.williamslabs.com/sat/docs/kmlexamples.php\n\nSPL uses the Open Source KepCalc Python library available here:\nhttp://sourceforge.net/projects/kepcalc KepCalc provides a simple\npropagation library with nearly identical implementations in C#, C++,\nPython, and Java.\n\nHere are some examples of SPL:\n\nAll default parameters:\nhttp://www.williamslabs.com/sat/spl.py\n\n100 samples of satellite Libertad-1 on May 1st between 00:00:00 and 12:00:00\nUTC:\nhttp://www.williamslabs.com/sat/spl.py?Satellite=31128&TimeStart=2008-05-01-00-00-00&TimeEnd=2008-05-01-12-00-00&SampleCount=100\n\nA pass of default sat Genesat-1 over an update New York observer, one sample\nevery 30 seconds:\nhttp://www.williamslabs.com/sat/spl.py?ObserverAltitude=300.0&ObserverLatitude=42.4402&ObserverLongitude=-76.4922&SamplePeriod=30&TimeStart=2008-05-14-05-13-00&TimeEnd=2008-05-14-05-24-00\n\nCurrent position of the ISS in XML format:\nhttp://www.williamslabs.com/sat/spl.py?Output=xml&Satellite=25544\n\nPosition of AO-51 (28375) over the past hour with a sample every 60 seconds\nin KML format (try saving file as test.kml and load with Google Earth):\nhttp://www.williamslabs.com/sat/spl.py?Satellite=28375&Output=kml&TimeSpan=-3600&SamplePeriod=60\n\nFeedback and questions are very welcome.\n\n-Phelps Williams\nKI6GST\n", "attachments": [] }
