    "content": "\nLuc,\n\nI agree with you and Stephan 100%...\n\nRight along with the proposal and launch of AO-51 things changed \nradically....A number of us objected, wanted the money applied to at \nleast a LEO with bandwidth, cw/ssb, and at that time got the only \nanswer that the purpose of an FM voice bird was to increase membership...\n\nI've since asked how much good that did...and never got an answer.\nWhy is our membership total a secret?  I suspect it has gone \ndown.  What is the state of our finances?  Are we (AMSAT-NA) on the \nverge of collapse??\n\nWill any board member come up with the answer??\n\nI will not donate anything to some \"secret society\"....\n\nI've been a member of Project Oscar since its existence, my wife, \nLeanore, KA6UCD, was the editor of our \"OSCAR LETTER\" for many years,\nand I became a member of AMSAT-NA from its existence.
