"content": "Ed,\n\nWhat type of device are you using to record the audio? I find it is better\nto use a recorder that doesn't use an agc network to electronically control\nthe audio dynamics (variations in volume level). I use an Edirol R-1 made by\nRoland. I don't think the R-1 is still being manufactured, but they may be\navailable through some distribution outlet online. It is a digital flash\nrecorder with the option of controlling the audio input level either\nmanually or by switching in an onboard limiter circuit. This also makes\nediting the audio files very simple after the contact.\n\n73s,\n\nDave, AA4KN\n\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Ed Tump\nSent: Thursday, November 15, 2007 9:13 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Recording passes\n\nFolks,\n\nTonight I was able to receive and record the AO-51 pass over my QTH at\napprox 0145UTC. When I listened to the recording it appears I recorded it a\nlittle too \"hot.\" What I did was split the audio from the radio and one to\nthe recorder and one to my headset.\n\nWhat do you folks do?\n\nAnd thanks to all who have been my Elmers during my current \"new guy\" phase.\n\n \n\nWarm regards,\n\nEd\n\nKC9GWK Grid EN52\n\nAmSat Member\n\n \n\n \n\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
