I\nnote that once I dial in the proper polarization on the antenna I can work\nmost of the pass with only slight adjustments. As the pass nears it's end\n(these are South to North passes) I notice I have to readjust the\npolarization of the antenna quite radically. \n\nOne thing with the arrow is that the two bands are at 90 degrees to each\nother, I've always wondered how that affects things. If you're dialed in on\n70cm, you're going to be off on 2m and vice versa. My homebrew antenna has\nboth bands on the same plane.\n\nClear Skies\n\nRick Tejera\nEditor SACnews,\nPublic Outreach Coordinator\nSaguaro Astronomy Club\nPhoenix, Arizona\nwww.saguaroastro.org\[email protected] \nK7TEJ, AMSAT 38452\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Zachary Beougher\nSent: Wednesday, January 12, 2011 15:29\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] TH-D7A Transmit Issues - Or Maybe Arrow Issues????\n\nSince we are on the subject of satellite equipment, I have a question: \n\nI was on AO51 a bit ago, and I was able to get in okay at the beginning\nusing the THD7A for transmit, but as the pass went on it was impossible for\nme to get in, even when there was dead silence. I tried the D7 afterward\n(using the Arrow like I would for a pass) on a couple local repeaters, and I\nwas having a hard time getting into them, when usually I could hit them with\na duck. I pulled the Arrow off and stuck the duck on, and I can get into\nall the repeaters fine. Keeping all of that in mind, I went back to the\nArrow and put a THG71A on in place of the D7 (same battery that was in the\nD7), and I could hit the repeater okay. I put the D7 faceplate back on, and\nit would not work.\n\nWith the above information, I am getting indications of both an issue with\nthe radio and/or Arrow.\n\nAny ideas as to what the issue might be????\n\nZack\nKD8KSN\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
