"content": "Hey John!\n\nLilacSat-2 is really unique... there are multiple telemetry formats on a\ncouple of different frequencies & then there's an FM voice transponder with\nyet another telemetry stream sub-audio.\n\nIf you scroll down to the \"LilacSat-2\" section on this page:\n\nhttps://github.com/daniestevez/gr-satellites\n\n... there is a great technical explanation. The most thorough decoders are\navailable in the GNU-Radio platform at the link above and the original\nsoftware from the project team is at:\n\nhttps://github.com/bg2bhc/gr-lilacsat\n\nHowever, if you prefer Windows, the \"HS\" (high-speed) version of the UZ7HO\nsound modem software includes a demodulator for the 4800 baud stream. A\n.KSS file from that type of demod can be provided to the appropriate\ndecoder at the following page and you can turn it into human-readable\n\"real\" telemetry:\n\nhttp://www.dk3wn.info/p/?page_id=29535\n\nFinally, be sure to try the 144.350 FM voice uplink (no CTCSS) from time to\ntime (downlink 437.200)... it's been active several evenings recently and\nI've only caught a couple of people on. Understandable, of course, since\nit's not been operational all the time. But when the transponder is\nactive, the range is good and the noise bursts on the downlink disappear\nwhen someone transmits on the uplink.\n\nI hope that little overview plus the technical detail on Dani's github\nrepository prove helpful to you.\n\n-Scott, K4KDR\n\n===============================\n\nOn Thu, Nov 1, 2018 at 10:50 PM [email protected] <[email protected]>\nwrote:\n\n> This evening at 0000 utc I listened and taped the beacon as the satellite\n> passed my qth and it wasn't loud but very audible.
