Also check to make sure all the cable connections are soldered properly inside the rotor. If the wiring visually checks out fine you probably have a dirty or defective feedback potentimeter. \nButch, KF4HR\n\n On Sunday, December 24, 2023 at 06:03:25 PM EST, Andrew Katz via AMSAT-BB <[email protected]> wrote: \n \n <!--#yiv0692087605 filtered {}#yiv0692087605 filtered {}#yiv0692087605 p.yiv0692087605MsoNormal, #yiv0692087605 li.yiv0692087605MsoNormal, #yiv0692087605 div.yiv0692087605MsoNormal {margin:0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\", sans-serif;}#yiv0692087605 span.yiv0692087605EmailStyle17 {font-family:\"Calibri\", sans-serif;color:windowtext;}#yiv0692087605 .yiv0692087605MsoChpDefault {font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\", sans-serif;}#yiv0692087605 filtered {}#yiv0692087605 div.yiv0692087605WordSection1 {}-->\nHi All,\n \nRecently purchased a second-hand G-5500 for satellite work and just got it up and running this week. All seemed to test fine, but today I noticed that theelevation meter appears to have stopped working….I can manually raise and lower the antennas but the meter barely moves. No issue with the AZ meter, and most importantly, since I’m controlling it via PST-Rotator, it seems to still be working, i.e. steering / working without any problem in EL & AZ (via interface), so I’m still on the air.\nI doubt I’ll be able to diagnose and/or fix the issue myself, but wondering if anyone had experience with this and had guidance. Would love to get it fixed.\n \nThanks,\n \nAndrew – W3TI\n \n-----------------------------------------------------------\n\nSent via AMSAT-BB(a)amsat.org.
