It is not really all that difficult either.\nI have made contacts on VO-52 and other satellites\nusing just an FT-817 and omni antennas and also\nmobile while driving to and from work using an\nFT-100 with an ATAS vertical.\n\nI used an old 386 laptop running InstantTrack and\nInstantTune software to set the radio VFOs. Using\nthis software, it is not much different than\ndoing regular HF contacts. You just tune with the\nradio dial to find a station or a clear spot and\nthen you PTT.
