"content": "Way to go Patrick. \n\nStill waiting for mine.\n\nJim\nKe4kol\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Patrick STODDARD (WD9EWK/VA7EWK)\nSent: Monday, May 16, 2011 5:13 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] satellite VUCC #210!\n\nHi!\n\nAfter I resubmitted my satellite VUCC application last Tuesday (10th)\nthrough the Logbook of the World, things seem to be working so much \nbetter. That application was approved the day after I submitted it \n(Wednesday, 11 May). Then the VUCC certificate and pin were mailed \nfrom ARRL on Thursday according to the postmark on the cardboard \nmailing tube, and it was in my mailbox today. Now this is how the \nelectronic VUCC application process should work. Again, thanks to \nthose who have submitted their logs to the LOTW system. I'm now at \n114 confirmed via LOTW, as one more grid was confirmed in the past \nfew days since my application was processed.\n\nI'm happy that ARRL was able to process this application in a way\nmuch more timely than my original VUCC application back in February.\nI think there are still some bugs in the process of moving VUCC into\nthe LOTW system, and maybe some will be able to talk with the ARRL\nfolks at Dayton later this week about that. The document that John\nK8YSE referenced earlier today about the discrepancy between VUCC\nand DXCC application fees is an interesting read. It shows what I\n(and others) have felt about the VUCC fee structure. This, too, \nis something that should be brought up to the ARRL at Dayton. This\nhas already had an effect on whether hams will apply for - or get\nendorsements for - VUCC awards. \n\nFor those going to Dayton, have a great time! \n\n73!\n\n\n\n\n\nPatrick WD9EWK/VA7EWK \nhttp://www.wd9ewk.net/\n\n\n\n\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
