If you have not \nreceived your\nballot package in a reasonable time for your QTH, please contact the \nAMSAT-NA\noffice. Your returned ballot should be sent as promptly as possible, \nand those\nfrom outside North American preferably by air mail or other expedited \nmeans.\n\nNormally there would be 3 full Board seats open this year, plus 2 \nalternates.\nHowever, with the passing of Tony Monteiro, AA2TX (SK), there will be an\nadditional full Board seat open to fill the remainder of his term. This \nmeans\nthat the top three recipients of votes will have two-year terms, the \nfourth most\nvote recipient will serve as full member for one year. Operators Jaime/EA4TV and Montse/EA4GCA will be active as\nTF/EA4TV and TF/EA4GCA during their holiday between July 20-31st.\nActivity will be holiday style using a FT-817nd into a Buddistick for\nHF and an arrow antenna for satellites, if possible. Operators Cristian/CE2WTF and\nManuel/CE2NTT will be active from Isla de Pascua (SA-001) starting\n0000z, August 2nd, ending 0000z, August 4th. PowerPoints from AMSAT's training track \npresentations\non \"Working Satellites\" have been made available.\n\nhttp://www.amsat.org/?page_id=2914\n\n[ANS thanks AMSAT for the above information]\n\n\n---------------------------------------------------------------------\n\n\nOrbital Sciences Cygnus Cargo Ship Launched to ISS\n\nOn Jul 13 the third Orbital Sciences Cygnus cargo ship, SS Janice Voss, was\nlaunched from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at Wallops Island on an\nAntares 120 rocket. The Voss cargo ship arrived at the ISS on July 16.\n\nThe 5000 kg Voss carried supplies for the ISS, as well as two Nanoracks \nbags\ncontaining a total of 29 3U cubesats:\n\n+ Techedsat-4 to demonstrate exobrake technology test for\n NASA-Ames and San Jose State U\n\n+ 28 Flock-1b imaging satellites for PlanetLabs intended to\n be deployed from the Kibo airlock over the coming months.\n The June 19 Dnepr launch delivered 11 Flock-1c 3U PlanetLabs\n cubeSats. The course is designed to be a\nself-paced, online professional development experience focusing on\nscience, technology, engineering, and mathematics, or STEM, education\nresources available from NASA.
