    "content": "You guys are making me aware of something.  (But it's a good thing)\nI've been keeping my IC-910 out in a BLACK \"Pack-N-Go\" bag,\nin the trunk of my car.  It has everything-- 1.2 GHz Module, Mode-J\nand UHF Bandpass Filters (included in the pack).  The sad part is, I\nnever use it except for Field Day!  Guess I need to do something\ndifferent, like get it out and use it.\n\nI generally use (one of) my IC-821s, or my trusted old 'IC-970', which\nI fell in love with-- thinking it was the absolute \"classic\" of sattellite \nrigs.\nI still use the 970 when making Mode-L contacts with 1.2GHz.\n\nIt is sad too when my FT-847 is ONLY dedicated to the 6-meters.\nIt's a satellite rig too, isn't it?  (Yeah, I must be in the FOG again.)\n\nMy ICOM IC-910 has performed well at Field Days, with only one\nexception.  It picked up some strange intermod at our site that the\nIC-821 radio didn't.  There is, however, another good lesson to be\nlearned here.  You need to be totally familiar with a rig you're going to\nuse at FD.  Digging one out once a year can cause an interesting, and\nsomewhat unexpected problem-- unfamiliarity.
