"content": "Hi MaK,\n I'm not so sure a BLACK LIST is the way to go, however, we most \ncertainly DO! need to be aware of the \"alligator\" ... (all mouth and no \nears) ... problem on AO-7. I read quite recently a post on the Amsat-bb \nwherea particular station was \"explaining\" that one *NEEDS* a linear \namplifier to work AO-7.\n\nAbsolutely *not* true ... (using an aerial !!!!! might have \nhelped.....LA2QAA & GM1SXX).\n\nOf course, today's FM'ing on AO-7 *may* have been due to ignorance, not \ndeliberate QRM, we'll never know but we should !!! encourage people to \nLISTEN before transmitting ... after all, it *IS* full duplex.\n\nI'd suggest \"education\" to be a better alternative than a\"black list\" ... \nAlligators will always! be with us with the \"mine's bigger than yours!\" \nmenality.\n\nA re-read of the recommended operating proceedure would do no harm. This \napplies to *ALL* satellites.\n\nPS.\n\nLA2QAA and GM1SXX will soon be publishing an article suggesting a way to \noperate satellites for those amateurs who have severe aerial restrictions or \nwho don't currently own the necessary equipment.\n\nI will of course put a link to the article concerned on the EU-Amsat pages.\n\n73 John. <[email protected]>\n\n.........................................................................................................................................\n\n\n>From: SV1BSX <[email protected]>\n>Reply-To: [email protected]\n>To: [email protected]\n>Subject: Re: [eu-amsat] AO-7\n>Date: Wed, 25 Apr 2007 03:48:26 -0700 (PDT)\n>\n> Hi John,\n>\n> well, I suggest to make a BLACK LIST (and publish\n>that anywhere, like Amsat-BB etc ).\n>\n>Why not?\n>\n> This way I believe that, every LID(= bad-operator)\n>will be more careful in order to avoid the LIST!\n>\n> After the closed-down of FO-29, we have to care much\n>more about AO-7's good-health.\n>\n>73, Mak SV1BSX\n>\n>\n>--- John Hackett <[email protected]> wrote:\n>\n> > Hi All,\n> > Somebody knocking 10 kinds of the brown\n> > stuff out of AO-7 this\n> > morning on orbit 48458.\n> >\n> > Careful !! with the power chaps or we'll lose this\n> > one as well.\n> >\n> > The recommended operating proceedure can be found at\n> > ...\n> >\n> > <http://www.planetemily.com/ao7/ao7log.php> Just\n> > click on \"Using AO-7\".\n> >\n> > The more potential new users who are aware that you\n> > *DON'T* need 100w to a\n> > 10 element beam, the more likely it is that AO-7\n> > will continue to provide\n> > excellent analogue signals.\n> >\n> > 73 John. <[email protected]>\n\n\n",
