"content": "Hello Gabriel,\nit is not the software that requires modifications of the TS-790E/A. You can\nsteer the radio with SatPC32 for Doppler correction without any\nmodification. The problem is that the RX is mute for about 100 mSec\nwhen a CAT command is sent to the radio. That is a peculiarity of the radio\nand regardless of the software. With FM voice repeaters that will be no\nproblem. With SSB satellites however it can be one. To tune the radio via\nmouse or keyboard requires a sequence of CAT commands, to tune it via the\nVFO knob requires to poll the RX VFO in short periods. So the RX will be\nmute for some time. Perhaps you test that yourself.\n\nThe solution I mentioned in the instruction file for that radio comes from\nKenwood.\n\n 73s, Erich, DK1TB\n\n----- Original Message ----- \nFrom: \"Gabriel - EA6VQ\" <[email protected]>\nTo: <[email protected]>\nSent: Friday, October 13, 2006 8:25 PM\nSubject: [amsat-bb] TS-790 doppler compensation via CAT\n\n\n> I'm sure this question must have been posted before, but I 'm new to\n> AMSAT-BB so I would appreciate your answers.\n>\n> Is there some software for the Kenwood TS-790 that is capable or\n> compensating the doppler?\n>\n> I am aware of the PcSAT32, but it requires modifiying the rig, what is\n> something I really would like to avoid.\n>\n> Anyone advice will be welcome.
