"content": "Hi Enzo,\n\nI also purchased one to play. For this step, first tune the dongle to a known frequency. Actually any known frequency will do, but the weather frequencies are usually strong and you can even use the tiny antenna included with the dongle to receive them. You will most likely see the signal peak is off from the tuned frequency (red line) of your SDR software. For HDSDR, click the \"ExtIO\" button, which will open up the dialogue box to adjust the PPM and other settings of the dongle. Put in any number just to see which direction your dongle is off and go on from there. Mine is at +38. For other SDR software, just look for the PPM adjustment and do the same thing. Ensure your dongle is warmed up and stable, about 10 minutes, before you calibrate.\n\nI also have the Funcube dongle pro+ and by far FCD is a better product, but for the price, RTL-SDR is worth playing :) ...have fun!\n\n73 peter ve7ngp\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Vincenzo Mone\nSent: June 8, 2014 01:08\nTo: Amsat - BBs\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Help on setting a RTL-SDR Dongle\n\nHi folks I am interested to receive the satellites with the USB RTL-SDR Dongle.\nI found on eBay one called:\nI bought on eBay the DVB-T USB Stick HD/DIGITAL TV Television FM Radio HDTV.\nTried to follow the instructions found on Jason's' page at:\n\nhttp://n4jtc.wordpress.com/\n\nbut I get stuck on the step:\n\n8.\tTune into a known frequency like the National Weather Service, this\nis required to adjust the PPM\n\nPlease which is the frequency of the PPM?\nI have tried to set the frequency on a local packet but cannot find it on the Software.\nPlease can anybody give more help to set it in the right way?\nAny help will be really appreciated.\nThanks for help in advance.\n\n\n\n73's de Enzo IK8OZV\nEasyLog 5 BetaTester\nEasyLog PDA BetaTester\nWinBollet BetaTester\nD.C.I.
