    "content": "Hi All,\n\nI've used SatPC32 with my Icom IC-910H successfully,  I tried using SatPC32\nwith my Yaesu FT-817nd and ran into some problems tonight.  I'm seeking\nsetup and troubleshooting help..\n\n*a)  Anomalous Behavior of FT-817nd*\nFrequency does not change to satellite frequencies\nFrequency stays on 7 MHz\nOn SatPC32 start up, mode on FT-817 changes from LSB to FM (in accordance\nwith AO-27)\nRadio rapidly switches between VFOa and VFOb a couple times when I select\ndifferent satellites\nCorrect mode (CW/FM) seems to be chosen.\n\n*b) FT-817nd notes*\nFactory reset performed\nCAT rate kept at 4800\nSplit mode is shown when SatPC32 is run\nI've tried two different FT-817nd's and they both exhibit this anomalous\nbehavior.\n\n*c) SatPC32 setup parameters worth mentioning*\nversion         12.8d - fresh installation\nC+ i               CAT control is ON\nA-                  automatic satellite chane OFF\nV-                  VFO mode OFF\n..........<Radio Setup> parameters............\nRadio 1        \"Yaesu\"\nModel            FT-817\nBaudrate      4800 (verified same as menu item #14 \"CAT RATE\" on FT-817nd)\nCOM port -   7 (verified correct with Windows Device Manager.  I plugged\nand unplugged the CAT cable and could see COM7 appear and disappear with\nthe Windows Device Manager)\nCAT delay    110\nno boxes checked:  RTS+12, DTS+12, KCT-Tuner, Auto Sat Rx/Tx change,\nSatellite Mode\nRadio 2      none\n\n*d) Reading the manual*\nI've read and followed the directions in the SatPC32 manual closely,\nincluding the 'Hints for Yaesu radio\" file.\n\n*e) Communications to Yaesu verified with another program*\nI verified the computer and CAT cable can communicate with the FT-817nd at\nleast when using CHIRP.  I was able to successfully program memory channels\nin both FT-871nd's..\n\n*QUESTIONS*\na) is there a known problem with using this version of SatPC32 with an\nFT-817nd?\nb) Any thoughts of additional troubleshooting steps I could take?\n\nI suspect I just missed something in the setup manual, but I can't seem to\nfigure out what.
