"content": "Jack,\n\nThe ISS does not have a dedicated amateur beacon. It operates in a variety\nof modes, with the most common being packet and voice with two meter\ndownlinks on 145.825 and 145.800, respectively. See this link for more\ndetailed info:\n\nhttp://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/satellites/satInfo.php?satID=19&retURL=/satel\nlites/status.php\n\nand this one for relatively current status:\n\nhttp://www.issfanclub.com\n\nWhen it is active, it is loud, easily heard on an HT, though of course a\nreal antenna is better. Due to various operational requirements, it is\noften QRT.\n\nAs for SATPC32ISS, basically it just requires the same serial link as the\nregular program. Are you using an IC-910? In earlier versions you needed a\njumper on the ACC socket, but as of version 12.8a that is no longer\nrequired.\n\nAlan\nWA4SCA\n\n\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Jack Barbera\nSent: Monday, September 27, 2010 3:04 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] ISS\n\nNeed a little help with ISS\nWas under the impression  that ISS had a beacon, but have not been able to \nlocate the frequency.  \n\n\nTo use ISS satpc32 I believed it was mentioned that some sort of a hand\nshake \nbetween the program/radio/computer was necessary.  Can someone provide what\nhas \nto be done.  \n\n\nThanks to anyone who can help me.\n\n Jack WA1ZDV \n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
