"content": "Cool! When do we all get boards for our PCR-100's?\n\n\n\tChris - AE6VK\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: Robert McGwier [mailto:[email protected]] \nSent: Tuesday, March 13, 2007 2:36 PM\nTo: High Performance Software Defined Radio Discussion List\nCc: amsat bb\nSubject: [hpsdr-dev] Odyssey Siren A success\n\n\nWe had a complete breakthrough on the Odyssey Siren in the past two \nweeks. It will be used in Suitsat 2, in a terrestrial linear repeater \nexperiment by Viktor Kudielka OE1VKW and friends, who supported its \ndevelopment, and we are already leaping all over the place to\napplications.\n\nFrank Brickle and I will be doing our SDR code on it over the next \nseveral days. The board as shown in the schematic needs some \nmodifications to fix the 3 - ish volt power supply for the Codec and a \nmodified oscillator circuit but we are certain it will all work now.\n\nOn the 10.7 MHz IF, I measured 0 dBm max into a 50 ohm load and less \nthan -120 dBm MDS and > 80 dB dynamic range. This is with a BOM of < \n$50 in parts and about a $20 dsp pic chip!\n\nYesterday in Rick's lab, with W2GPS, K3IO, we made the above \nmeasurements, hacked on code and turn the thing into a bent pipe \ntransponder. I also did the hilbert transform to make it an inverting \ntransponder. It all worked perfectly.\n\nhttp://www.cnssys.com/~w2gps/amsat_files/suitsat/\n\nhas detected audio in an SDR-IQ SDR as well as captured IF from the \nSDR-IQ of the transponder. We have to balanced for image and do DC \noffset correction but the thing works and sounds great as you can hear \nfor yourself!\n\n73's\nBob\nN4HY\n\n\n-- \nAMSAT Director and VP Engineering.
