"content": "Bill,\n\nI will second Dee's recommendation of the LVB tracker for amateur satellite\ntracking. We always have it running with SATPC32 at the AMSAT booth at\nDayton. The Yaesu interface box is a basic, solid, but expensive unit.\nBoth use a standard command syntax, and are supported by many other\nprograms. \n\nThe FT-847 is supported very well by SATPC32. Erich has all of its quirks\nfigured out. With SATPC32, an FT-847, and an LVB tracker, you can\nconcentrate on communicating. \n\nAlan\nWA4SCA\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Bill Gillenwater\nSent: Saturday, January 22, 2011 9:20 AM\nTo: AmsatBBS\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Rotor Interface Yaesu 5500\n\nOK, a newbee question about interfacing rotors. I have a Yaesu 5500 and I\nrun PCSat32. What do I need between the rotor and the computer? I would like\na few options. Do I need the Yaesu 232 interface box or will a generic box\ndo the job. If a generic box will work, which are the best for satellite\nwork with PCSat32?\n\nTnx 73 Bill K3SV\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
