"content": "Hello Larry,\n\nAny terrestrial beacons on 432 MHz to listen to ?\n\nThe + vs. X configuration, no real advantages in satellite comms except \nrain will wash off better with the X config.\nX pol is X pol, no matter how you rotate the boom.\n\nIf you are planning terrestrial comms, consider the The + config since \nmost terrestrial comms are H polarization.\n\nHave you got your pointing accuracy correct to true north ?\nAny way to verify pointing accuracy, like with a terrestrial beacon ?\nHave a friend go out with his TX and verify pointing accuracy.\n\nOn a rare occasion coax wears out intermittently, center pins can get \npulled back making poor contact.\nListening to a /B, wiggle the antenna and look for intermittent signals.\n\nAre all coaxial connectors sealed from the weather ?\n\nThe VSWR at 1.5:1 is good, but not spectacular. What did you get before ?\n\nDoes the VSWR change as you wiggle the antenna ? Should be steady, no \nmatter where you look.\n\nDoes the az/el positioner work ? does it move ?\n\nStan, W1LE Cape Cod FN41sr\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn 11/29/2010 8:14 PM, larry wrote:\n> Good evening,\n>\n> Name here is Larry, N1MIW.
