"content": "Mike,\n listen to it carefully, the switch picks a relay, do you hear the relay \nclick? no ? clean the switch and look and the soldering/wiring to the \nswitch, yes ?you do hear the click then its from the relay to the back, look \nclosely at the relay contacts to the pc board and the wiring.\n Sometimes its very hard to see a cracked solder joint you might just want \nto resolder the contacts on the relay and see if you problem goes away.\nKevin wa6fwf\n\n----- Original Message ----- \nFrom: <[email protected]>\nTo: <[email protected]>\nSent: Friday, November 20, 2009 9:12 PM\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Help with Yaesu g5500\n\n\nI bought a used Yaesu g5500 and it has a strange problem. The AZ works \nperfect, but when I push the EL button it seems to work (ie. Move up or \ndown) about 1 out of 4 tries. I can regularly duplicate the issue where I \ncan't get EL to change. If I wait 30mins and come back then it sometimes \nworks right away.\n\nThe rotor itself was into Yaesu and they said it was 100% perfectly fine. I \nhave tried swapping the AZ/EL cables around and no difference.\n\nIt has to be a controller issue I think. Any ideas before I box it up and \nship it to Yaesu to check?\n\nWhen it works, it works fine and typically for 5-10mins straight, but then \nsuddenly it will not change again.\n\nMike\nkb8zgl\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
