The single pin animals (for power and signal)\nare feed through capacitors. Helps keep noise and bad stuff out of the\npower supply/signal input chain. Less of a mess to deal with at RF.\n\n'PQL makes nice kits. Well documented. Currently building my way to a\npair of amps (VHF and UHF) for the B210.\n\nThe ultimate amp control board will do many of the amp control things\nnatively. SWR sense, lockout, sequence (DC power, bias, RF power and\nholdoff, in that order and reverse for unkey)\n\nRelatively inexpensive to buy this kit. Slightly painful to build as\nit's SMD. Ring magnifier at a minimum. Best with a stereo microscope.\nThe right tools make the job almost painless.\n\nHis analog method of doing timing for the control board is pretty\nneat. Spent a few hours contemplating that circuit.\n\nUses an LM35 to do temperature sensing. My amps run out on the edge.\nBest place to run (cleanest) them per the data sheet. Does mean that\nthere's not a lot of headroom for errors and oopsies.\n\nUsing VI cor 24VDC in-> 12V 5A bricks to run the chips and\nelectronics. Paneltronics has 24V 5A circuit breakers to stop any\npower supply craziiness.\n\nI used Phoenix Mecanno enclosures with integral card slots. Not quite\nas pretty as a custom milled enclosure.\n\nNorm n3ykf\n\n\nOn Sat, Jan 20, 2018 at 8:43 PM, anderson58625 <[email protected]> wrote:\n> Hello!\n>\n>\n>\n> Not being especially familiar with microwave equipment, I came across a type\n> of connection which is currently a mystery to me.
