    "content": "Joe\n\nIt is probable that the surge got deeper into the the tracker and \ndamaged other components.\nLightning has a habit of doing major damage and also stressing other parts.\nIt is probable that the control device has experienced EMP damage \nthat causes it to do strange things.\nI learned my lesson many years ago when trying  to be the hero and \nfixing some lightning damaged gear.\nI got everything working, and a week later the equipment was back for \nadditional repairs.\nThen the next week it was back again.\nThe fix was to replace the equipment or replace all of the solid state devices.\nJust replacing what is bad today will get the equipment back up for a \nwhile, but, it will probably fail again, at an inopportune time.\nLightning just stresses the devices too much.\n\n73\nGlenn\nWB4UIV\n\n\nAt 07:22 AM 9/6/2010, joe barkley wrote:\n>I had the USB port on my LVB go out after a voltage surge that\n>took out my computer.
