First it was SuitSat-2 which became ARISSat-1 on the USA side since there was no longer a Suit but the Russians maintained the variant RadioSkaf-B (radio suit 2). Recently, they decided to commemorate Gagarin's flight and started calling it KEDR (Gagarin's callsign) so you will see multiple names for the same satellite. Hopefully, it will get a number and we can all call it the same thing then.\n\nKenneth - N5VHO\n\n________________________________________\nFrom: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of Luc Leblanc [[email protected]]\nSent: Tuesday, February 01, 2011 7:50 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nCc: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: Photos of ARISSat-1 loaded into Progress\n\nOn 1 Feb 2011 at 13:24, Daniel Schultz wrote:\n\nDate sent: Tue, 01 Feb 2011 13:24:31 -0500\nFrom: Daniel Schultz <[email protected]>\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Photos of ARISSat-1 loaded into Progress\nTo: [email protected]\n\n> Photos of ARISSat-1 loaded into Progress vehicle:\n>\n> http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=35923\n>\n> Dan Schultz N8FGV\n>\n>\n>\n\nA bit confused here is it ARISSat-1 or Kedr?\n\n\"satellite Kedr was accommodated in the vehicle cargo compartment on January 18\"\n\n\"Its name is accepted by call sign Kedr of the first cosmonaut of the Earth - our compatriot Yu.A.
