This verification\nformerly required exchange of paper QSL cards and submission of a paper\napplication to ARRL – a slow, environmentally unfriendly, and somewhat\nexpensive process. Using LoTW today, some digital contacts get\nconfirmed *within\nminutes *of when they conclude.\n\nBecause ARRL wants there to be no barriers to stations uploading their\nQSOs, LoTW is available to any amateur radio operator at no cost to the\nuser. However, there are costs incurred by ARRL for Logbook operations run\nby ARRL staff members including costs for programmers, equipment, web\naccess, and user help and support.\n\n*The future of LoTW!*\n\nARRL Headquarters staff works with a permanent committee to oversee,\nmaintain, and improve LoTW. Some notable achievements and goals that have\nresulted from this work include:\n\n - Continuous reviewing and updating of Logbook processes to facilitate\n ease of use\n - Adding new ARRL awards as well as awards from other organizations\n - Enhancing DX registration through supporting email methods\n - Adding support for multiple locations within a single upload, which\n supports the rover and mobile communities\n - Future growth including a redesign of Logbook's web presence.*day,\n LoTW is more important than ever!*\n\n\n - The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has significantly slowed international\n mail.\n - In some countries, the mail has been embargoed.\n - Many national ham radio societies have discontinued their QSL bureaus\n and it's unlikely that they will reappear.\n\nYour donation to Logbook of The World will support maintenance of the\ncurrent database and expansion of the system in the future.\n\nVisit the <https://www.arrl.org/arrl-donation-form>*ARRL Donation Page\n<https://www.arrl.org/arrl-donation-form> *to support Logbook of The World\ntoday!\n", "attachments": [] }
