In general, the bird \nappeared to have less signal strength and \nmore fades. It was, SO-50 like.\n\nSince reorientation, it is my impression that\nthe signal strength has improved significantly\nbut there remain some fades; especially at \nlower elevations. \n\nIn discussions with KG6NUB and others,\nthe feeling is that the bird is still in some \nkind of \"recovery mode.\" To me, \"51\" \nnow seems like its old \"self.\" Fades are \nbecoming less prevalent. \n\nFinally, my knowledge regarding orientation,\nreliability and stability of OSCAR satellites\nis extremely limited.
